MPH Portfolio Introduction

Hello, my name is Jennifer Lee and welcome to my electronic portfolio.

The electronic portfolio serves as a platform by which interested viewers can visually “tour” a series of demonstrated core competencies that I have achieved within the field of public health, as well as my professional accomplishments, personal reflections, leadership skills, and community experiences.

For the past 10 years I have worked in the areas of HIV/AIDS services, and reproductive health, providing education to communities of women and youth, in both rural and urban settings. For the last 5 years, I have worked at Asian Health Services, a community-based health care clinic serving newly arrived, undocumented immigrants in Alameda County, California. My experiences at Asian Health Services have included: working to provide HIV testing, counseling, and reproductive health education for Asian and Pacific Islander (API) women working in massage parlors, coordination of comprehensive family planning program and clinical services for API youth, and the establishment of a program working to address the needs of youth involved in or at risk of juvenile prostitution.

My experiences working to ensure the sustainability and development of resources that exemplify cultural competency in health education continue to inform the quality of my work and expand my areas of practice in community health education and social justice.

If you wish to contact me with feedback or questions regarding my electronic portfolio I can be reached at jlee@ahschc.org.
